BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX ON TUESDAYS -- Just in time for the S4 premiere, we're covering Greg & Larry. Aarthi and Carl talk about how the finale stacks up against the episode previous, its position as the ending to the arc, and just who IS Rosa Diaz anyway? There's segues about The Mindy Project, Central Intelligence (the Hart-Johnson comedy from summer 2016), and POPSTAR, and maybe some blather about What Is An Apatow Film Anyway? We speculate on how the Jake/Amy relationship will be handled (we recorded this before the 4x01 press release came out, so bear with us) and wonder if this could be how the show rolls Jason Mantzoukas in as a full-time cast member. Unfortunately, those developments and more are going to have to happen without us. With this, Episode 64, Back in the Field is packing up its mics. We've been so honored you gave us an hour of your time, now and then, for the last two years, and we hope you'll all continue to shout at us on Twitter, Tumblr, and wherever about how much you love this special little show. Thanks for listening, we'll see you around.
The S3 finale recap is also going to double as our finale. Carl and I have tried and tried and talked it over. We had actually begun discussing ending the podcast back in October or November of last year but things got hectic and strange and hard. It’s easy to blame my move, Carl’s job, my (now previous) job, the time difference, the show moving to Sundays, all sorts of things. But the honest truth is: we don’t love the show with the intensity we used to. And that’s okay, obsessions wax and wane, love never dies. We both love this show, we both feel it’s special and important -- so much the more so for the amazing fan community we got to be a part of! We just also recognize that the time has come for us to step aside and let others, whose love burns more brighter, to shine through.
So here’s the end: thank you, so much, for everything. For listening, for reblogging, for tweeting, for sending asks, for sending emails, for favoriting, for being present. We couldn’t have done this without you. We wouldn’t have wanted to. ♥
