Getting the urge to rewatch Bitten (2008), as you do.

Genuinely, the end of “Bitten” (2008), is actually really cute and unexpected. Like, you expect it to end with Jack being victorious, getting rid of Danika and getting himself a new girlfriend who’s easier to handle. But, no, he ends up living with Roger, who seemed to see him like a son and wants to take care of him. In the end, the solution to both of their loneliness was that, if via an unfortunate, and permanent change. It’s really quite refreshing, even if the film isn’t the best.
