his… real actual smile is teeth-bearing and eye-closing and whole and genuine. his nose crinkles and he probably snickers and maybe 2 people have ever been alive to witness this particular smile in action because he’s embarrassed by it
the smile most people see is… soft. his eyes stay soft and his lips tilt upwards just the slightest. dont let this smile fool you its the fakest shit and hes probably approaching you to tell you that he accidentally set half the royal tax papers on fire
if it’s not that one, it’s the impish one that he uses exclusively for when hes messing with someone whom he trusts enough to actually openly mess with (leo) and its gross (just like leo)

like… as a character? kanes ‘theme’ or what he was based around is an exploration on how people react to and grow (or regress) because of war or trauma , and how someone can carry things that seem petty (like childhood bullying) and use them as fuel for things completely unrelated because of how it shaped their life? idk if thats a ‘theme’ but it was a big initial idea for me when i was thinking of him
