* @heropartnerweek day 6!
*i decided to do this one and possibly the next one traditionally instead bc im pretty busy rn ;w;
*this piece is made w charcoal, a bit of graphite, and some chalk pastels!
[Alright, this is a sketch for an anonymous ask asking if the team had been through any close calls (which as you can see, the answer is yes). I started the sketch, as you can see, and then promptly lost the drive to complete the piece. I would like to be able to try focusing on answering other asks, so I’ve decided to set this one aside for now and hopefully return to it later. In the case that does happen, I’m keeping the ask in my inbox so I can answer that when it comes time for that, but in case that doesn’t happen, here’s the sketch for you all to see! Hoping to make some finished asks soon!]
fuckers destroyed the bittercold can’t have shit in detroit
assortment of orikero references for artfight, ft a new character (rozuzu)
Team Oedrasbane vs Bittercold
Open pic in new tab for full size
I actually quite liked Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates To Infinity (so there! :P), and visually speaking, the Bittercold is a pretty cool boss ^^ (no pun intended XD)
229 layers in this image, 227 for the evil snowflake of congealed despair! (Why so many layers? Because of an idea I’d had about how to get a decentish ‘icy’ effect on the colouring so as not to make things look too flat -- it involved using the colour select tool on various bits of my colour reference pic then doing clever things with the Flood Fill tool (with ‘sample merged’ switched on) and the Hard Light layer composite mode) I think it turned out rather well ^^
The team name ‘Oedrasbane’ came partly from this Old Norse dictionary: http://www.yorku.ca/inpar/language/English-Old_Norse.pdf , which stated that the Old Norse for ‘despair’ is ‘oedra’ (well, the ‘oe’ is supposed to be a diphthong), and ‘___bane’ or ‘___sbane’ means ‘___’s slayer/defeater’, and the whole plot leads up to defeating this incarnation of despair, so... yeah ^^
Ehehehe
My next pic is definitely going to be a nice, quiet, simple one XD

Tfw the final boss is basically a giant snowflake
