I have spent nearly every day since the beginning of the year writing and trying to figure out my characters. I think now that I have a better feeling…I’m going to rewrite my act one. I’m not trying to stay in perpetual pre-production! But I think everything will be better once I do this. In the meantime, still working on prototypes and modeling since that takes a lot of time anyway.

I’m still working on the game! Just small bits here and there since I’m super busy again. Hoping to finish Maelis’ model in another week or two.

Working on Maelis in Blender and it’s been slow progress. But I’m glad my style is at least translating well enough! Hopefully I can have them look decent. My goal is just to have everything good enough for the demo. At this rate I’m thinking maybe end of the year / early 2027 for demo drop.

Avoiding having a boring main character by making Maelis be the equivalent of a bull in a china shop. I also need them to always be the elephant in the room demanding to be addressed.

I spent all day on Roosevelt. Not to be confused with generic white bunny from last week, he’s a side character needed for the demo.

Once I figure out a good pipeline for texturing, this should go by faster. I think I redrew everything like three times today? I want to really hone in on the aesthetic and tone of all my models. I *think* I have it figured out now.

Half of making this game is trying to conceptualize the height differences.

Here is the makeshift turnaround I put together of my first 3D model ever. Its not perfect but workable lol.

This bunny is part of the narrative-focused (originally graphic novel but now expanded out) video game, working title Bitterling, I have been developing since December. I am currently working on the demo. My librarian bunnies have been characters I’ve drawn for years now so I’m excited to finally bring them to life!
