::Hello, Starscream. How are you?::
MATE
IS
CALLING
All the love and adoration over that bond.
::SKYFIRE. I MISS YOU. I LOVE YOU. I HOPE YOU’RE HAVING FUN. DID YOU FIND LOTS OF COOL THINGS? I MISS YOU. I WROTE YOU SOME MUSIC. I LOVE YOU. I MISS YOU.::
Starscream settled into his nest for the night. The sounds of the lab below seemed muted...the aching of the city outside could be felt through the thick, gilded walls of his room. The consul was playing soft music in a subtle attempt to lull him to sleep.
The song of choice had been a poor one to soothe his nerves.
The seeker heaved in distress, his frame shaking and caving under the horrible sobs wracking through his chassis.
"I love you..." He blubbered into his pillow, "I don't think you ever really understood how much I really, really do..."
Down like a Dog on the Highway
The initial explosions had been set and detonated. Arcee's warriors had infiltrated gradually over the past few cycles, bypassing the tightened security with the utmost caution and with only a trickle of success. They would still be hard pressed to secure a truly "surprising" onslaught.
Arcee herself was moving quietly, her Captain Chromia at her side, into the city.
"The spy was meant to be disabling their bridges at this time."
"Yes."
"Shall she succeed, you think?"
Arcee smirked, "I think so. I battled her once. She was formidable."
"The seeker shall have to keep up his end of the bargain no matter the outcome."
"He shall," Arcee replied, "I shall be sure of it."
The Old Blue Skies of Home
Friends, my friends, you've pledged to us today for a home safe from fear...When Mother Cybertron is free.
I go to fight for the blue skies beyond us. Those old blue skies of home. I go to fight for those blue skies remind me of a way of life that's pure; of the truth of that must endure. In a city called Vos in the old blue skies of home.
Pray for this day as we journey back towards them; these old blue skies of home. Let all the blood of the Cons spill upon them! Until they've payed for what they've wrought, taken back the lies they've told. Until there's peace again in Vos...and we're safe again in White Hall... In a land where honor lives and breathes; the old blue skies of home!
We gave our lives for the blue skies of Vos!
Those old blue skies of home...
To life, my friends...
To love, my friends...
I have no allies, only enemies

The Walls Come Tumbling Down
The troops have been hard at work, training Vos' eager citizens into something of a guerrilla battalion.
Starscream had finished rerouting the energon supply lines, making sure that there was a buffer between the city and the Decepticons and starvation, and thus allowed to roam freely about the castle. Skywarp appeared to be hiding from him, but it was no matter - he hated dealing with children all the same.
As long as he stayed out of sight, he could do what he liked.
Shockwave had just sent out confirmation that the network of bridges was done. Using the data from the Constructicons' jury-rigged one and equipment from the former Queen's lab, they had something of a workable transport system - no longer reliant on one single access point on their own Cybertron. No longer unstable. If they had to, they could abandon this planet and hide out on a planet in a completely different universe.
Currently they were using this system to ferry supplies to allied citystates, few as they may be, with whispers of explosives sent in the direction of percieved opposition from apparent allies of THOSE locations. Slowly, subtly, causing discord, rallying further support.
Some of those bombs may have been laid in certain structures of Vos herself. His home city of Kaon would take the blame for the lost school and one of their fuel depots, sadly. He'd already held a rally honoring the poor children. (Most of them survived, but one child didn't know school was cancelled that day..)
This was all well and good, but Megatron was bit preoccupied with catching up on this world's records. Namely, one Orion Pax.
He was alive and well, but not a Prime, or an enforcer, or a dock worker.
An archivist. Holed up in the Hall of Records. An assault on Iacon itself wouldn't nearly touch him. They would have to take out the Hall and hope the retrorat didn't wriggle free.
Was crushing an old grudge worth the loss of history?
... perhaps. His alternate would have thanked him.
He would have Starscream send his Combaticons into Iacon, equipped with full artillery. He hated to trust those mercenaries, but they were the most well-oiled team out of all of them, and they'd served him well in the past.
Maybe there would be enough data left in the rubble for Soundwave and Shockwave to recover.
