I own two recast and not because I decided it. My friends - who are out of the hobbie at all - made a gift to me in my birthday, they knew I like BJDs too much and they found what dolls I liked. They found dolls a very low price and they bought them for me, but they didn't know they are recast. They don't know what's the problem with recast in this hobbie. I like my dolls, they were a gift from my friends and it was so sweet for them to found them and expend money... but I'm afraid of antirecast

Don’t be anon, they have no power over us. They’re not the police or your parents, they can only hate from behind a screen and rant about dolls that don’t even belong to them. There is a rich and vast community of pro recast members on this hobby. They will respect you and help you as much as possible, regardless of the doll you own and it’s pricetag. And if you think you can’t find us, just click here for recommendations on pro and neutral recast communities.

I have a Recast doll coming back to me because its a gift from my sisters. I felt bad because they got me the doll after I have decided to no longer get recasts. I decided to pay them back but I am keeping the doll as they knew I wanted that sculpt for a very long time. I got dmed by someone awhile back and saying that I should not keep my recasts and should just throw them all away. It really struck me quite bad tbh because I'm not rich and those dolls were bought with hard earn money. :/

Anon, if I might, a good piece of advice it’s to stick to people who either have no drama and understand that this dolls, recast or not, mean a lot to you, or, simply be part of the prorecast community. I feel for you, but you can’t ask anything more from antis and proartists. This are the community members that have ruined the hobby since its beginning. When it wasn’t recast was abs plastic, or cheap legit companies, even now you can find people telling that “the junky spot sells only junk” and things like it. So even if you get a legit, unless it’s a Volks LE, for them “you’re not worth it” and from what I see, your sisters love you a lot, so your priority should be to get along with people that loves you regardless of what doll you own.

I have a happy confession! I bought my girlfriend her first doll and gave her a budget and let her pick out it's wig and first outfit and it was so fun working with her to put it together. It felt really good treating her and sharing my hobby with her c:
