People who buy recasts on purpose have got to stop using money as an excuse. At this point, there are several legit options you can buy at the same price point as recasts. It might not be the exact doll you want, so, save up. I have rarely or even never seen a recast collector have only one doll. That sort of proves the point. Your two recasts could've been one legit. You just don't want to pay the $$$ for a legit doll at that point.

bruh these cutecore collectors crossing over into the bjd community need to GTFOH..offering $200 for a pair of $15 eyes bc you need them…this ain’t figures it don’t work that way here

I feel like between tariffs and the price of living in the US increasing so drastically, I've been priced out of the hobby I've been in for over 20 years. My job barely covers my bills, and even secondhand items are out of my price range. I know no one needs dolls and this is a luxury hobby but I feel like I need to grieve, while also feeling like I can't grieve too loudly because so many others are struggling too. This hobby has brought me so much joy and community but there is so much sadness for me now too. I don't know if I should sell everything and quit or hold on in hopes that somehow things will get better.

I find the pricing argument on recasts to be really funny considering even the more expensive ones (I.e. resellers marking up the actual price to be 100-200$ more than it actually is) are still cheaper than a fullset or even just a blank doll

I've been in the hobby for over a decade and I still say "damn this shit expensive" when I see how much cash I'll willingly drop on a doll
