BJD Update

It’s been a while! I wanted to update my Tumblr a bit before I get back into doing my usual posting. If you follow me elsewhere, you may have seen that I’ve sold quite a few of my dolls over the last year or so and have brought home a couple newbies. I no longer have my Minifees, Luts KDF girl, or 5StarDoll Tong Tong. I’ve also sold my Tiny Delfs, which I plan to reshell this year.

New to my collection are my Shou Shou Doll Gouhai head, my Iplehouse Carina, and my Soom Narmer/Dollstown hybrid. I’ve added a Souldoll Azrael head as well! Along with the new additions, I reshelled Kaydee into an Iplehouse Irene and also got a brand new August. (Sold old August, re-bought same sculpt with updated bust size and hands.)

I’m still doing faceups and SFA has grown quite a bit. I’m really having fun with my current commissions and am slowly adding to my portfolio!

Anyway, I hope to be posting more on Tumblr since my life is way less hectic now that our wedding is done! I’m back to a regular schedule and am much less jam-packed with stuff to do.

Preparing a huge sale ~ I’m building a quick Wordpress page for that so all photos are in the same space. And even though I was off last week, didn’t take photos of the items. Well, I’ll be selling more than half of my collection (mainly heads) unless someone wants the bodies coz I’m not mentally ready to ship bodies lol.

I’ve already created the list of the heads and the prices. So I now need to take photos, pack them and then create the post and publish it.

Sounds like lots of work lol

But my first goal is to drastically downsize my collection as I know for fact I don’t need this much even though I love them all dearly.

So, I’ll see how this goes

Update

I’m sorry I haven’t been as active on here. I’ve kinda just been sticking to Instagram. I’ll make an effort to post more and catch up on posting what has been going on with my dollies. 

Recently I decided to make a few changes with my characters story and their backgrounds so I’m slowly working on that. One change was re-shelling my main girl Lore as a Mnf Celine. I like the Rin, but wanted her to look more mature. I think I’m really happy with the Celine (aside from wanting a new faceup), as she feels like a better fit. 

Idk if I plan to sell the Rin head or shell her into a new character yet. I really only have plans for 2 more MSD/MNF characters and for them I had other sculpts in mind...so I’ll probably end up selling but we’ll see. I’m still a little attached.  

I also plan on changing some things around in my diorama and possibly working on more? Maybe a kitchen area, the apothecary, and Rune’s room. Just gonna take things one step at a time though so I don’t burn myself out.

As a side note I changed my name on both here and Insta. (Was formerly yuukimonsterbjd). Just in case I confused anyone.

So I called customs (because they’re oh so good at harrassing me to send them what they ask for but God forbid they actually answer a question right) and they apparently took their sweet sweet time with my package and so she can’t be delivered until next week, but next week I won’t be here, so the other week it is. ‘orz I just want this doll here already...

Okay so an update!

1. Angell Studio said my doll is ready to ship, they just needed my “Social Security of Brazil” which I hope means my RG otherwise I have no idea what EMS wants from me.

2. Rain is no longer Rain. I’ve changed her wig, eyes and character, and I’m loving it. Her new wig needs a little treatment with hair conditioner or something I think, it’s frizzy, but I’ll get to that possibly next week. I’m debating on a new name for her, but I’m thinking maybe Claire. She also needs new eyes because these barely fit her eye wells and leave a gap because they won’t go in all the way.

3. Teiwa is almost 100% done and I’m excited~ My mom and I made her shoes and panties today, haha. All that’s left is her earrings and necklace, and possibly her weapon if I decide to try my hand at crafting it. Still need to draw a fullbody ref to post a project journal because I wanted to register all this progress.

4. I’m going to my very first doll meet this Sunday, if all goes well! I’m a little nervous but also very excited, though if the protests keep up like this I might not be able to get there... Fingers crossed the protesters decide to rest over the weekend, haha.

Remember the other day when I said my mom’s friend set up a schedule to cut Tei’s wig as a favor? So, that was today. I was a bit nervous because I’d never taken one of my dolls out in public and I knew there would be other employees/clients there, but everyone was very nice and Tei got several compliments. One of the ladies even knew what she is without me having to explain!

These photos were taken by my mom (except for the last one) as I was busy holding Tei while her wig was being cut. Look how much shorter it got! I love it.

Last night it occurred to me that all 3 of my girls had very similar sounding names, so I decided that ok, maybe let’s not call the new girl Faye, haha.

Because Rain, Tei (pronounced like Tay) and Faye was uhm... Dynamic trio? No can do. Even though Tei is only a nickname, I use it frequently enough that it’s almost her name.

So now I sit here staring at my list of possible names trying to pick another name for her. Help, how does one name dolls?

My aunt picked up the package with Teiwa’s wig and will be bringing it with her when she comes to visit on my mom’s birthday on the 13th. So I should be able to get some photos of Tei with it then or on the next day! Which will also help me decide if she needs a new faceup or not.

Now if only the postal system would actually let my other package move from the sorting office where it’s been for 2 months to the post office so she could bring that too...
