Warm up doodle for the day. Claire didn’t show up to Lydia’s date and Beej doesn't take it well after preparing for a while to set things up.
I needed to practice background work for another project as well as make a new banner. Bonus is finally drawing the main cast together. Their designs work so well together. I’m really proud of myself.
Took a bunch of photos again from the cartoon and redrew this baby one of Beej.
Happy uncle, look at him go. His niece is finally causing mischief. He's so proud.
Also more of me testing out backgrounds because I suck ass at them. I think I did well this time.
Lydia may or may not have broken the family promise to never summon him ever again... -

- I needed something to get me out of the pits of art block, and drawing this was just that. I also figured out a bit of what summoning my version would be like. Grabbed the door from ttg and stuff to finalize it.
Overall though I’m proud of this. I actually played around with some lighting and a couple brushes I hadn’t used before. And didn’t cheat and use the image of the netherworld sky this time. I actually made the sky in the doorway myself this time. I should also be putting out a speedpaint soon, but I did just finish this piece so I gotta edit it first.
I redid the character design again. Nothing changed, I just wasn't proud of the style of the last one. I did the other late at night and rushed it. But yeah just the outer world clothes again. Everyone seems to really like this design in some of the servers I've shared it in, which hyped me to draw her more.
I just found the autodesk sketchbook file for these and realized I’ve been holding onto these since November. I finally finished them up today. I thought for possible flashbacks I would need these. Also the gameshow suit will be useful for the comedy Beetlejuice stuff from the cartoon.
Finished the ones I needed for Lydia. Which happened to be a ton more. Of course I’d rather put Betty’s outfits on their own sheet, so that’ll make up for the imbalance. I gave Lydia much longer hair because of the way I drew it with the ponytail.
I have to do some mood related stuff with my current work, so I decided to get the main emotions out of the way. Sometimes I will draw these with various intensities. And sometimes the normal green hair is shown, but the shirts are different. Like when I draw the pink button up with the normal hair. The clothing if not matching the emotion is for the setting. It sets the mood or purpose of the scene. Like in my Beetlelands piece for the date. These emotions are drawn as the highest intensity of each. Of course this is just them show standing idle. If it was the angry one, for example, and something was said that pissed him off even more, the hair would volcano upward in a fit of rage. As for scared, the white, and unstable, the black. The black is part of the raw eldritch/shoggoth form. So it moves like liquid. And white is scared or what I’ll use for the lost souls room and exorcisms. The hair flows and stands up like it weighs nothing. It really varies. I can’t wait to eventually get around to showing off all of these in projects in the future. I’ve already got one coming up soon.
