Theory of Bad Kind of Butterflies by Twitter insider/theorists
Bad Kind Of Butterflies;
Camila herself said this song was about anxiety and mixed up feelings she was feeling at the time. The feeling of hurting someone she loves and cares about.
( link: https://youtu.be/zqI6g3X8MW8 )
But what if the lyrics don’t talk about one person specifically?
If you listen to the song with a more open mind and try to think about the most obvious meaning it has, you’ll realize it does indeed have a second meaning.
Here’s our analysis:
(Don’t forget the word “you” can be used both for singular and plural)
(To make it easier think about this song as made for her fans.)
In the first verse, it seems like she’s calling someone to tell them something importante, something she’s really apprehensive to talk about, besides knowing there’s a chance the person may hate her after she says it.
It’s not news that Camila cares deeply for her fans and always tries her best to keep us satisfied.
But what if there’s something bigger beyond that love? As important to her as the support of her public, that she needs to know she really has that support and only then she feels okay with herself.
She tells us she loves us but wants somebody else even though she’s afraid of letting the public down. She knows her own fans all too well and that some of them may stand against her loving who she loves. We were able to get a little glimpse at it some weeks ago (almost as if it were a test), remember the reactions that C and L interacting had? A lot of people were not happy about it.
So imagine that but on a much bigger scale. Camila showing off who she really is and who she really loves. It’s obvious a lot of people would react really badly.
What could she lose by choosing to not let all that out and to just keep it to herself? She could lose a whole wave of love, support and acceptance or maybe she wouldn’t lose anything at all since this world is full of cruel reckless people ready to judge and condemn everyone.
All that conflict and doubts get her extremely anxious and with bad feelings as if she has to hide something she doesn’t like to.
Always lying and saying everything is fine and that nothing happened, once more feeling that anguish that comes with all the denying.
Something really importante to be talked about is that “something” she needs to say is always stuck in her mind.
Remember we told you to look at the lyrics with na open mind and to not look at the literal meaning of the words?
In a first moment you may think she’s talking to one specific person but that’s where the double meaning comes in.
You know that several times “you know who” was designated as C’s friend, she said it herself.
But that doesn’t mean it was all a lie. For a long time their relationship did consist in friendship.
Obviously they had feelings for each other but they were indeed just friends for a long while. However, at some point since that time things have changed, their relationship changed, and it went beyond of “just friends”.
In this part of the song she sounds like she’s trying to emphasize the fact that she did not lie. As if she’s trying to say “I didn’t lie. Please don’t judge me for this, I was telling the truth back in the day, however that has changed”.
Are you following?
Last but not least, she seems to be asking for advice or someone’s opinion on what she should do even though she knows the dangers and the risks she may be taking and would still want to do it.
(The rest of the song is repetitive so we believe there’s nothing else to analyze beyond what we have).
We hope you guys understand our chain of thoughts about this song, it’s really common for artists to use a second meaning in the lyrics they write so the message they are trying to send doesn’t become that explicit.
Unfortunately, the public tends to stick to the more obvious meanings and completely missing the real message.
If Bad Kind Of Butterflies was a movie...
Congrats to the genius behind this video...
Reposted from @bigdoxx New Bike Day!!!!! New Bae Day!!!!!! I’m super stoked about the new ride. Absolutely the best bicycle I’ve ever owned. The Paradox is that (see what I did there?), this ride was manifested because of the worst accident I’ve ever been in. And because of the love that I received from the basketball and cycling community! Which is the best part. Salute to the players, coaches, supporters, and organizers at @veniceball for donating to make this happen. And also salute to the homie @alonsotal for the fresh wheel set. Zo (that’s what I call him) was one of the 1st people I met on group rides when I moved to LA. In fact he let me ride his trackbike in Leimert one night at @bananasnetwork and it sealed the deal. Prior to that I was riding fixed from a frame that @p200e(🙏🏾) gave me because my Mountian Bike broke. And last but not least salute to the good brothers at @goldensaddlecyclery for putting the pieces together. They support Zo so I had to support them and it was a pleasure and honor to meet those gentlemen. I was a customer in the shop but I felt like family. Looking forward to riding with the new homies in the future. It truly feels like Christmas yo. I’m on another level filled with gratitude, joy, and excitement. This is what blessings feel like and I’m wit it!!! #newbikeday #newbae #cinellimashbolt2 #cinelli #mashsf #fixedgear #trackbike #moretrackbike #savethetrackbike #veniceball #vbl #rideyourbike #FTmash #bkob - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/CDWmtJtgwES/?igshid=wiksu8s3pnji

Bad Kind Of Butterflies
Segue a análise:
