Remember the weekly ritual of going to a record store (or 4) to spend hours discovering music and finding out about shows?  Well, I do and it's one of the first things I do when I'm visiting a city; GO FIND A RECORD STORE.  Proper record stores know what's going on in their city. That being said, Mount Analog in Highland Park is one of the few places in L.A. that I would send someone from out of town for some music and knowledge.  Mount Analog presents a hand picked selection of quality records, films, books, and art.  Highly recommend visiting them especially since they regularly have instore performances by musicians and DJ's.  Click for more info on Mount Analog.
