Got a pack of black crayons from my most recent project at work to practice good pencil mileage when boarding, and man was it fun sketching with crayon.  I realized that the crayon texture looks like the brush that I use for storyboarding, which is fun haha

Hugh Ferriss, Study for Maximum Mass, 1922.

The modern skyscraper takes on a futuristic, monumental form in Hugh Ferris’ series of architectural renderings. First Published in the New York Times in 1922, these drawings show how the city's landmark 1916 "set-back" law would produce the stepped architectural silhouette realized years later in structures such as the Waldorf Astoria and the Empire State Building. The limitations imposed on maximum mass were designed to allow light into city streets, and to allay public fears that the new monoliths would turn city streets into canyons of darkness. Ferriss blocked out the building’s form in a greasy crayon, used a paper stump to achieve halftones, and produced highlights with an eraser.

I was feeling unfocused today. I did my anatomy studies but then afternoon went to shit because I was just ambling around not being able to do anything.

So I took my car and went driving for a bit, bringing a book of dragons and my sketchbook. Just outside and to a smaller village outside of town. I parked the car and found the first park bench to sit on. I sat there in the sun for an hour and sketched some dragons. Kinda found out too late that I had forgot my pencil case at home. But I found a black conte crayon in my bag!

I kinda like how the bottom dragons turned out. Looks like they are a team or something. All heading out on adventure.

This was done in black crayon, and ink. I made it in November. I think the poem was from a couple years ago.
