I've been working on a FREE Black Business directory for months now ( online form here:
https://airtable.com/shrAoL15nm9diHfVV ). Like ANYTHING, I told those who I knew personally (including family) FIRST and wanted to make sure they could be supported and uplifted. NOT ONE SUBMITTED YET. But we have over 250+ submission from people that I've met and built with regarding it, not only submit but over 100 of them and others who don't even run businesses have reached out to support, collaborate or even volunteer their skills, knowledge, or services to empower it's success and sustainability. Even tonight, we decided to grab take out from a local Black business and gave them one of the submission forms we keep in the car. They had their business submitted before we even made it home to eat and we were less than 10 minutes away. What's my point? Harriet Tubman said it best, "I freed a thousand slaves, I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves." S.H.I.F.T. in Progress!
