Case-study on how to create a logo?
Last week I had worked on a logo designing project for a Poly-house consulting firm. The project also includes website design, brochure and other promotional materials. They provide service on project writing, assist in subsidy filling, getting bank loan etc. It is fairly new type of business, which most of them are not aware of such services. Hence the client wanted to create a vibrant identity to attract the customers. The project got signed-up and now I’m in idea generation stage. The client had agreed for a pictorial representation of logo. I browsed for the images of poly-house images, gone through documents which clients had shared etc. But still lot of questions remained unanswered. Here are few of them
How big is a poly house?
It is also called green house, does it mean it appears green always?
What is the material used to cover the roof?
How does it feel like to look inside in a poly-house?
How it will benefit the plant?
In short, those questions were all visual questions not just a data type. I was little skeptical about asking all these questions to client, since they might find it too basic. Not all clients are same. I found Lalbagh has many poly-house built in it. Last Sunday I went there to see them live. They are so big and constructed on groups. As the name suggested they are not green always some of them are white also. The climate inside the poly-house is warm and the plants look so fresh and flourished. I wanted to take a photograph inside but the guard did not allow me. I took few from the outside. It is a good experience to me, I never know farming has improved a lot now a days. And the experience inside the poly-house is splendid. I felt like having a coffee inside. On reaching home I sketched few ideas. I sketched on different angles and views. I have finalized 6 out of them and further improve on them. Here are those
To conclude, it is natural we get lot of questions in an idea stage. Try to find answers for them as much as you can. Don’t judge them is it relevant to the project or not. That would tremendously help in your project later. The simplest way to find the answer is experience them. Referring the book or browsing the internet has its own limitations.
