Vox Machina in the Black Pits

I played the entire Black Pits (a side adventure in Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition) using characters based on those from Vox Machina, adventuring party of Critical Role season 1. Not all of them, the game allows only 6 party members and mechanically will make your time crappy if you have only one meatshield and I was displeased with how early levels Sorcerer plays. So I picked some characters from second arc, making a party of Grog, Thobir, Keyleth, Pike, Lyra and Vax. Vax was a mistake, rogues are not very useful in this combat-focused arc of the game, he was mostly useless. Interestingly, only he out of the main VA characters in party survived, Beloth somehow managed to slay Grog, Keyleth and Pike in the last moments of the final battle, I don’t get exactly how he even do that, a spell maybe. But it helped him nothing, others more or less dogpiled on him when he was already weak. Funny thing, I had ealier made his dugear sidekick run away in panic and forgot about him but the ending doesn’t launch until all enemies are dead. So the remaining party kept mutilating Beloth’s corpse after he had fallen, mad at the death of their comrades.

Has anyone done The Black Pits in the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition and has a way to make it more challenging? I was super disappointed with how easy it was to go through. Especially the last fight.
