Hibiscus: an alter role exclusive to bodily black systems where an alter's role/etc is related to embracing blackness, fighting internalized racism/colorism, exploring black culture after being disconnected from it, etc.

again, this term is exclusive to bodily black systems. others are encouraged to make similar terms regarding their own bipoc demographics!

the hibiscus is haiti's national flower. haiti was the first country to gain independence following a successful slave revolt. (also, we're haitian!) the wreath version is inspired by the black american heritage flag. the colors are inspired by the pan-african flag. i did make a version with no icons, but tumblr really hates the file no matter how i download it. so. question mark.

✨Extremely random post but I am probably the least black black person to ever exist. Not gonna elaborate because I don't want things to go into internalized racism territory, but it feels so weird being black in the "wrong" way, especially when I'm simultaneously also in multiple communities that are white-dominated on the Internet.

✨I don't know. I'm very much an Oreo (in the "white-acting black person" way not the mixed race way) so I've never fit in most black communities 😭
