PULSE OF THE UNDERGROUND #4
Mkali Bahari Orchestra - Black Rite
All right. So here’s the first of the black rites; Lunar purification.
You misuse this and my lady will make sure you regret it.
Gather rainwater in an earthenware basin, and leave it to soak up the moonlight for the entirety of the full moon. Take it into a jar, or, if you are lucky enough to have it, a clay pot, and seal it in place. Wait for the new moon and dip the item to be purified, or the hands of the afflicted, into the water, pouring it back into the basin if needed. Let the contaminants fall away. Return the water to the earth afterwards; Be more careful with contamination the next time. This is not for easy purification, but for truly hard targets and things tainted heavily such that only the moon and the rain can have a hope of washing them clean of defilement. Pouring the water from the jar into an area will do the equivalent of purifying and consecrating it for some time. This will decay at a rate variable based upon the area’s background count and environmental saturation, but will probably be good for at least a day and a half. It is possible to store the water, but it loses effectiveness.
