AAVE is not “Millennial Slang”. Our ancestors were forced here and stripped of our languages, religion and culture. Ever since then, we have found ways to rebuild and create a strong community. AAVE or Black English is our dialect. We own these terms.

Question

When did whites officially appropriate “hustle” and being about ones hustle. I’m listening to this podcast ad and the white liberal host is tossing around “hustling” and while it was used the right way... idk 😐 it didn’t belong to him, the way he said it was the auditory equivalent of tasting unseasoned or lightly salted meat.
