Instead of going to the museum like we usually do, my class went to the zoo!

Most of the day was spent doing from-life sketches, I was just mindful of taking enough photos (and videos) so that I would be able to finish things up a little later. As you might be able to imagine, drawing moving animals is REALLY HARD. The swarms of small children were not helping, we all realized we could not paint because people were bumping into our stuff.

Technically we’re still in our mammals unit but I picked a baby black tree monitor because they were in the same building and I mistakenly thought they would sit still (this one did NOT).

Last reptile reference post.  Bearded dragons always make the best models, which is lucky because they have the coolest scales.  Taken at the East Bay Vivarium.  Free to use as art reference.
