Today I'm feeling a bit militant.

We have been labeled for too long. It is a very human practice to take the easiest path, the known path usually, and make decisions, have reactions, build perceptions and concepts off of it.

It is easy to define someone based off of descriptors. You can easily give a description of the person and move on. What happens if those descriptors are associated with preconceived notions, or stereotypes, and both of the negative spectrum. What happens when folk who love the easy road see said descriptors in the next person.

We define people by a single or even 3 or 4 aspects of who they are and we lose sight of things. We become judgy or stereotypical. We feel there is no reason to get to know the person because "they" are all the same. Oftentimes they are not even see as people.

We need to move away from assumption. If you have to be indifferent because you do not want to get to know people that is fine too but to just lump all into one broad category without any thought is definitely not the way.

I am definitely more than the skin I am in.

I do not deny my skin in any way shape or form but I maintain that there is more to me. Especially if I am being judged by someone else's definitions.

Support a cause that is about lifting a people. About spreading knowledge. And is about showing that people, human beings, are multidimensional.

It’s a black thing ..

Society has not only brainwashed majority of our youth but continuously try to erase our culture, steal our inventions, take away our power, take away our resources, fabricate our history, and so forth.

WE

As black people need to come together, do our research, bring back our culture, & most importantly live in our truth! Embrace all that we’ve been through, from our ancestors to our grandparents to our parents.

I can go on forever.. but yall get it.
