Malcom X Demonstrates That Either white People Can’t Solve The Race Problem In amerikkka Or They Don’t Want To!
idc if people think its not that deep, to me it feels like it.
the activist mentality of the caucasian has reached its full circle moment. i heard malcom x say in an interview he gave back in the 60s that he was suspicious of white people who join black people but have to be in the lead.
and omfg if that statement isnt the most time appropriate comment i've ever heard. the amount of white people i see online speaking on behalf of poc communities on things that are not there's to decide or comment on is astounding. moreso because they claim to be doing it in the name of progressivism and equality etc.
but if called out on that kind of thing not being needed or appreciated by the community, then suddenly it becomes a problem and then there's talk about how the negativity and denial of their 'activism' is why we dont further....they must see themselves as the heroes/saviors.
hell its even starting to creep into media and as much as i wanna call out the show that made me think about writing this post, i wont because god knows i'll have people defending/arguing about very visible hypocrisy.
Now Is The Time To Act!

A/N - procrastinating a fic by making another fic is so cool right guys. Oh yeah and reader is more like alt/emo so keep that in mind
For someone who overthought practically everything they did, Malcom hadn’t ever considered being into dudes before he met you. He’d had girlfriends before, had crushes on girls- and he had always just assumed that he was completely as straight as a line. But all that changed when, one sunny afternoon, you’d accidentally lost a nerf dart in the Wilkersons’ front yard while playing around with your friend. It’d be an easy fix, just walk over there and pick up the dart- but Malcom had seen it first, and was about to give it back when he caught sight of your face- and it immediately caused him to freeze in place with his hand awkwardly holding out the nerf dart, and his mouth just slightly agape as he was practically mesmerized by your face. One teasing comment, and Malcom mentioning he had nothing else to do today later, and you and Malcom had became close friends pretty quickly.
Now- past that point, Malcom had tried to deny it to himself. He didn’t know why he would blindly follow you when the two of you snuck into places, or ding-dong-ditched the neighbours, but he did know he was being a complete idiot and it was out of character for him of all people. As the two of you grew older, his feelings went from him being incredibly willing to follow you anywhere you went- to a fluttering in his chest every time you walked by. It had to be something in the way you dressed- or that eyeliner you’d started wearing- or something completely unrelated to Malcom himself- because he wasn’t gay! He swore it!
Today had been a lazy day. You and Malcom had been hanging around in your room all day, reading comics and playing video games, until Malcom had brought up how you wore eyeliner all the time now.
—“What, do you wanna try it?” You offered, the words seemingly causing Malcom to glare at you halfheartedly as he responded
“No way, dude- I’d look like a girl if you put it on me.” Malcom grumbled, leaning his back against the headrest of your bed and crossing his arms while he did so.
You let out an amused scoff, “Do I look like a girl to you, Malcom?” You fired back with feigned offence at his words. That got a better response from Malcom, as he visibly seemed to try to backpedal what he had said.
“Well- C’mon- I mean I would- not you,”He sputtered, “You look cool in eyeliner- like some sorta rockstar-“
It never failed to amuse you how Malcom got all flustered like this around you. It was like you were the one person who could just.. break him. And you hardly had to try to do it, too.
“Relax, dude. Just hold still, it’ll only be a sec.” You grabbed your pencil from off of your desk, crawling over the bed and straddling Malcom so you could get a better view. Malcom didn’t seem all that opposed to this, mostly because he had gone uncharacteristically quiet when you did so. You put a hand on his jaw to keep his face in place as you began using the pencil to darken up Malcom’s under eye. It was surprisingly hard to do eyeliner when it was on somebody else- usually it felt so easy when you did it on yourself, but apparently this was another ballpark. You’d had to grumble under your breath for Malcom to “quit squirming” when he flinched too much at the pencil near his eye. You’d been practically sitting in his lap at this point- but you couldn’t care less when you were more focused on getting your friends eyeliner just right.
Malcom himself, though? The entire thing had sent his brain into overdrive. He felt all rational thought leave his brain when you had started straddling his lap- and your hand being on his face didn’t help either. Your face was so close already- if he just tilted up a little bit, then-.. but Malcom was straight! Just as straight as a line! Whatever this was had nothing to do with that! He had to keep screaming it to himself in his head in a failed attempt at trying to shove down the feelings bubbling in his chest. When you had finally finished with the eyeliner- pulling away with a satisfied sigh, Malcom almost whined at the loss of contact. Whatever you were doing to him was dangerous- it definitely felt like it. His face felt like it was a hundred degrees, and when you had moved to get up- Malcom had gotten this close to actually calling for you to come back.
You pulled him up by his hand, before eagerly tugging him to look in your mirror to see how he looked. You were grinning like a mad man, So Malcom had no choice but to assume that he looked good- and when he actually looked in the mirror, he didn’t really hate what he saw. It took him a moment to find his to tongue in his mouth before he could finally speak again, but when he did-
“I actually look pretty nice..” Malcom mumbled, admiring how the makeup looked on his face in the mirror before turning back to you. “Where’d you learn how to do this?”
You simply shrugged in response, giving a vague “I figured it out.” Before you flopped back onto your bed with a small grin on your face. Malcom couldn’t help but look back at you- unable to look away at the way your lips curled up and-
..He might’ve been a little into dudes, after all.
