Here’s a commission very recently completed. I have no title for it but clearly it’s in the tradition of Ascension Paintings. It’s strange: I am in no way religious or have any Faith in any organised Religion, but religious paintings seem to move me, which I think is right and proper, even though I’m an Atheist (I suppose that’s a kind of faith). It was such a pleasure to make this painting, working closely with the owner, especially so here because it’s a subject I’m certain I wouldn’t have tackled.
