Had another East vs West showdown from the Central City Red Racer Across The Nation Collaboration mixed pack last night, pitting the two lagers in the set – Wide Open Spaces Kellerbier (collab with Black Bridge) and Bouclier Canadien Pilsner (collab with Trou du Diable) – against each other. Both have a similar bready malt character, and a snappy body and finish suggesting that they were well lagered. The main differences lie with the aromas and flavours provided by the hops, with Wide Open Spaces having notes of orange blossom and lemon peel, while Bouclier Canadien had nice touches of lime leaf and mandarin peel. The former also appeared to be at least partly unfiltered, based on its slightly turbid appearance and yeasty tang to the finish. Both very fine lagers. . . . . . . #beer #craftbeer #beerphoto #craftbeerphoto #beerreview #craftbeerreview #hoppybeer #kellerbier #pilsner #lager #craftlager #collaborationbeer #centralcitybrewing #redracerbeer #blackbridgebrewery #troududiable #canada150
