My, itās been quite a while since Iāve posted a beer review here, hasnāt it? I really should try to get back into the habit, especially with the always increasing variety of great beers that have been making their way into my fridge, like this Glorioso Italian Pilsner from Left Field Brewery. Iām admittedly still not 100% sure what makes a pilsner āItalianā ā or in the case of one brewed here in Canada, āItalian-styleā, I suppose ā but every one Iāve tried has been crisp and dry like a German pils, but with a more prominent herbal character, and generally quite aromatic from generous dry-hopping. Glorioso ticks all of those boxes, and finishes with a lovely lime leaf note that lingers on the palate. Mark from the brewery kindly sent me this as well as their new Goldpanner Smoked Black Lager, and tells me that both of them will be pouring at the Dominion City Rooted in Place Festival, so go have a taste there if youāre in Ottawa this weekend, or head to the source at the Left Field taproom if youāre in Toronto.
