Liddy doesn't bother looking up from her switch, too comfortable in her chair to even consider getting up and stopping Siggy from exploring. She's got her fuzzy socks on, and the statue of David is almost in the exact position she wants it. Siggy is taking his life into his own hands now.

She blew a raspberry his way -- the very picture of sophisticated maturity when faced with insult. Her pride was a sizable, if easily bruised thing. Admittedly, it stung a bit to hear such a thing from anyone, much less Siggy, but she hardly let it stop her. 

“That’s certainly a belief people have had,” she said, nonchalant as she leaned back in the chair to untangle a delicate pendant chain. The jewelry had gotten bumped around on the way here, and Ruby wouldn’t sit idly by when their fine things needed sorting. “And they’re all entitled to be wrong.”

She nodded, closing her eyes and offering a fairly sage-like expression of understanding for a few seconds. Then, all soft sincerity fell away, and Ruby leaned over to grab Siggy’s hand, tugging at him enough to make her point but not enough to hurt. "Too bad, get up. I have twenty gowns in your foyer waiting to be looked at.” Not to mention a few surprises -- onyx and amethyst jewelry, and a few long lace gloves, to name a few.

Besides, it was Disney night. Jane had a small booklet of DVDs to keep her busy in a side room while Ruby and Siggy had their own fun. Of course, that wouldn’t stop Jane from singing along or reenacting all the scenes she knew by heart, but it would give the adults a chance to have some fun. “We’re going to be evil princesses tonight, and you have to pick out your coronation dress.”
