Blackhounds - "Caught Red Handed"
This band is too good.

Blackhounds
Yesterday I had an opportunity to work with an amazing Rock-n-Roll band from Salt Lake City, Blackhounds as they filmed a music video for a single off their upcoming full-length album. Their style combines good ol' fashion Rock-n-Roll and cowboy boots! Unlike most style of music that discuss hard relationships and bad times; they focus more on life, friends, and generally having a great time. The songs are upbeat and always moving to keep the crowd entertained. Lead guitarist, Clyde brings amazing energy and performance with his unique pick style of strumming on stage. Anything from licking his guitar neck, swinging his headstock, to tapping his feet. Lead singer and guitarist, Lorin rocks his cowboy boots and bandannas; tapping his toes and swinging his feet to the rhythm. With his long brown hair, nice beard/mustache combo, and personality; he's a guy you have to speak to at least once in your lifetime. His vocals go right along with the style, bringing out deep tones and the sweet sounds of classic rock-n-roll. I originally met Lorin back in 2004 when he was touring as an acoustic solo artist going by The Yearbook. I've always been a fan of his music. He later played drums for a band that resembled Cute Is What We Aim For named The Lauderdale. This was right before Blackhounds began when Lorin moved up front and became a lead singer.
We started out the morning with some coffee, cookies, and orange juice in a bar they rented out called The Urban Lounge in Downtown Salt Lake City around 10am. I met up with Trent Davis and his girlfriend Brittni Willie to help setup cameras, boom, rails, etc. The band had an idea in mind but as we started shooting more ideas popped up that we were able to work with. I had a great time working with Trent and Brittni! Two amazing photographers in love, cute couple. My job was the queue the music and control the lighting while Trent and Brittni did all the recording. Trent had an amazing crane/rail/boom setup for the live shots that amazed me. Everything came out smoothly and I can't wait to see the video! Blackhounds - Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the music video. I had a great time and look forward to the album coming out. It was great working with Trent and Brittni!
Blackhounds is releasing their full length album "Rot-n-Roll" at Kilby Court on April 30th in Salt Lake City. Tickets are $10/advance.
