Pet help please

I have a black lab named Sirius and I have a recurring issue. He wont stop drinking water. 

I know. sounds silly. But I’m serious (ha ha) he won’t stop drinking. I talked to a vet, he isn’t sick or ill. Our diagnosis is he drinks when he is bored. I have an auto water dispenser (for his cat sisters) and I have to barricade a room off so he won’t drink the whole thing out of boredom and suddenly has to potty ten times more than normal and has potential accidents. I did my internet research, it seems not many have this issue so now I turn to Tumblr. If anyone on this site has suggestions please feel free. I can very easily stop using the water dispenser but then I’d have to make sure he doesn’t drink the water I have out for them. Thank you~
