The story is told in part prose and part letter format, and while I don’t often enjoy reading stories told in letters, this method worked so perfectly for this book! Dear Martin is equal parts relevant and important as well as funny and heart-warming. It perfectly tackles really big conversations such as toxic masculinity, privilege, how racism is embedded into society, police brutality, and how racial slurs can impact lives.
