I just started reading this book that was recommended to me. This is the first fiction book I have read in some years. Although it is fiction the story is about a culture that is very real. It is story that takes place before and after the civil war. I am getting familiar with the characters Marybelle and Rue, mother and daughter who were midwives and healers.
