Exactly one year ago. After this trim gone wrong (that I disliked at first & ended up loving) I had full intentions of growing my hair out. One year later my hair is just a few inches longer than this because once again I needed another fresh start. Natural hair journeys are not always rainbows & sunshine. There is a lot of frustration, learning, maintenance, & time that go into it. So shout out to the girls like me who have been natural for YEARS but still haven’t quite figured it out. Shout out to the girls with kinkier textured hair (I love us, forreal). Shout out to the girls who decide to keep their hair short bc it’s easier for them. Shout out to the girls who choose to protective style it up & go about their day. Shout out to those who decide to loc their hair. Shoot, shout out to the girls who decide being natural ISN’T even for them. I can truly understand why. One of my goals for this year was to grow my hair out & stop cutting it. While I’m still sticking to this resolution I always remind myself that at the end of the day it’s JUST hair & you do what you want with it. Everybody’s journey is different. Do you boo! ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
