Blackout has been primed. I’m pretty sure I have all the paints that I need for him, he doesn’t exactly have a lot going color wise.

First coat of paint on Blackout is appropriately dark. A solid base of tamiya gunmetal! Blackout is monotone in the movie, but I am going to build up values on him, the lightest color is going to be silver and then I’m going to use orange for his optics and maybe some little detailing. I also have purple out for detailing since he is a decepticon. Gotta have some purple somewhere!

Ok finally put the decals on this guy. I was so intimidated by the water slide decals for no reason, they were super easy to apply. I may go back to my little harrier jet and add some on to her! Regardless, decals are added onto Blackout and I think he looks better for it. It is such a small bit of detailing but it does add something.
I think I am done with him. I may still go in and do some additional detailing but all in all I am pretty happy with him. He’s been sitting at my desk with the other mechs and I find myself enjoying his monotone. I thought about adding some flight direction lights because it would make sense for him to have it but I am just not sure that I want it.

Blackout progress!
I needed a more digitigrade leg than he had at first, so I got a Barbatos Lupus. The legs and front skirting are so much closer to what I needed! He is still a work in progress, but we are going places.
Next Next kit bash on my agenda- Blackout! Using the hg G Gundam as a base. First step was building the kit without doing any mods, my next step is to turn this G Gundam into a monster! 🚁
Better photos of Blackout! With my newest acquisition, heroes of Cybertron Blackout!

Blackout progress! I think since I last updated the photos here he has gotten his optics/cameras/spark painted (fluorescent orange with an orange clear coat over them) and I just went through and made a lighter shade of silver for his plating. I’m going to continue detailing him but this is how he is for now.
I have some decals left over from my harrier jet model that I am very tempted to put on him.
