"I may have wanted that," he replied with a shrug. "Back when I was...oh, let's say fortyish. You know, midlife crisis. But I have lived many lifetimes since then, and I'm comfortable with who I am. Can you say the same?"

"And by the way..." He smiled mysteriously. "If I want to walk in the light, there's no reason I can't. Just because they call me Lord of the Underworld doesn't mean I never go anywhere else. "

“Damn.” Roman didn’t know what else to say about the whole three thousand years old shit other than that. He couldn’t imagine being that fucking old. In fact, he was sure he’d probably crash and burn before he was fucking 30, but there was really no telling.

“We can do it however you want to do it. I’m flexible.” Roman gave the other a cheeky grin, leaning back into the seat he was in.
