BlackStarChanX3 is... weird.

So, I recently got blocked by Tumblr user BlackStarChanX3 for literally no reason, as far as I can see. All I did was follow him, then send him a DM with a question about Four Swords OG and said I loved his blog. About a month later, he blocked me.

Apparently, he has a history of doing this to people. He'll just outright block them for things like following him or liking and reblogging his art. He made a loooong rant video about the subject on YouTube that I haven't been bothered to watch (it's like an hour and a half of unscripted ranting). From what I could tell, he just said he doesn't have to give a reason to block people, and that his fans don't have a right to see his art.

The first claim, I agree with. The second, I do not. Like, yeah, you can block people for no reason, as it's your account and you make the rules. But I absolutely have the right to view your art, as does anyone else who feels so inclined. You've uploaded your art to the internet, and it's there forever.

So, sorry, BlackStarChanX3, but I still look at your art. I just use alternative methods to do so, since you blocked me from seeing it on Tumblr. Be mad about it. 😂 Even though BlackStarChanX3 is a rude, petty, spiteful, vindictive individual (his words, not mine), he's a great artist, and I like looking at his stuff.

Because even if I don't like a person or their behavior, I can still enjoy their art. I learned to separate the art from the artist when I was, like, 10 years old. That's why I can still enjoy "A Song of Ice and Fire", even though George R.R. Martin is a lazy, arrogant pissbaby, and I can still enjoy "Harry Potter", even though J.K. Rowling is a raging transphobe and a very unkind person.

From what little of BlackStarChanX3's rant video I saw, he said he has a lot of trauma about being bullied online as a teen. I do too. In fact, as a teen, I was bullied mercilessly both online and offline, by both people my own age and by adults. I don't use that as an excuse to be a jerk to people, or to punish any potential fans of my work from engaging with me. That just seems unhinged to me.

The funniest part about all this is that, because I love BlackStarChanX3's art so much, I was actually planning on requesting several hundreds of dollars worth of art commissions from him. Dude just literally screwed himself out of a great payday, and I must admit that I find that pretty amusing.

So, yeah, I'm not upset or angry about any of this. I'm just sort of bemused, and I honestly feel pretty bad for the guy. He clearly has some serious issues that he refuses to address, and I think that's quite sad. Life is a lot happier and more fun if you just treat people with kindness and respect. You only live once. Chill, bro. 😂

I'd be curious to know if anyone else has any similar stories with their dealings from BlackStarChanX3. Again, I know I'm far from the first person he's done this to. And frankly, I believe his crappy behavior should be called out somewhat.

LMAO. BlackStarChanX3 is now trying to blame me (and other people who call out his rudeness) for the fact that he's planning to lock all his art behind a pay-wall on Patreon. 🤣 It's obvious to anyone with half a brain that he was planning on doing that for a while. He's just hoping that he can pin any pushback he gets for it on others.

Reminds me of this awful Japanese teacher I had in my teens who used to single out and pick on one of my friends in class. One time, my friend was the only one who hadn't finished an assignment, and our teacher - I kid you not - said, "Well, [redacted] isn't finished yet, so I guess we won't be watching that episode today". Like, legitimately disgusting, abusive behavior.

So, the dude who calls me an abusive, victim-blaming incel because I said I'm going to continue to view his publicly available art turns out to have abusive tendencies himself. What a shock. 😮 I've been called a lot of things in my life, but "incel" made me laugh so hard that I inhaled my orange juice. An asexual incel - that's a new one! 🤣

Oh, and just FYI, BlackStarChanX3, me telling you that I'm not going to do business with you because I don't want to monetarily support you isn't me "holding money over you for power", or whatever you said. It's me refusing to support you financially because I don't like your attitude. Kindly learn the difference. ❤️

BTW, if you take your art exclusively to Patreon, you're going to lose a lot of viewers. I'm not gonna lie - I really like FSR - but I have better things to spend a dollar on, like a frozen diet drink at my favorite restaurant. I'd much rather give them money than you. So, enjoy drawing for an ever-dwindling audience. I'll continue viewing FSR until you stop making new ones available. I have all your old chapters archived on my PC, so I can still read those whenever I feel so inclined. >:)

I'm sorry I came across as rude when I mentioned the indigo bookstore having the volume you had struggled to find. I mentioned that it was the Canadian site as I know different stock is available in different countries and was surprised that Canada would have something that was hard to find elsewhere, as it's usually the opposite.

I'm sorry I upset you, it was not my intention at all and I hope that by clarifying my intent, I can ease some of the frustration I caused you. I wanted to let you know it could be found elsewhere, because you spent so much time looking for it, so if anyone you know was also looking for it they would have a lead, or so that you could check there for harder to find manga in the future. I wanted to share a resource to help you with finding the manga you love, because I love your comics and wanted to give something back in my own way.

Anyways, I hope this reaches you as I suspect I've been blocked. I was trying to like one of your posts on my dash and got a system error, then couldn't find you at all on tumblr. I'm sorry.
