It would be worse, then, for her to fall in line. The way in which I portray Lux is as someone who desires more for herself. In all areas of her life she’s felt trapped, unable to be who she truly wishes to be. She has faced prejudice and pressure from every authoritative figure in her life; for her to finally succumb to their wishes and rid herself of her individuality and uniqueness would be to give herself up as some kind of living weapon. That is the last thing she wants.
