I'm in a poopy mood because when I argue over stuff with my parents they always have to be right. It doesn't matter what the issue is. Today it was racism and how to combat it. Yesterday it was how much frijoles is proper for a taco (my dad literally yelled at my sister for putting too much on a tortilla. luckily my sister and I have talked about arguing with our parents and I've convinced my sister to pick and choose her battles). So it's kind of difficult to not get mad at them when they never ever acquiesce a point even though it's good and always steam roll over you with their opinions.
OH YEAH!!!
SOMETHING ScAndALous happened during the camping trip.
So my one of my uncles was teasing all the kids (everyone under forty) and he asked us if we were going to bring our husband/wife to that land. I said (jokingly) that I was going to have a house husband and an ancestral land husband. I would only bring the latter with me to the Ranch. The question went around until it got to my cousin (who might as well be my brother) and he responded "I will never bring a girl friend here. Or a wife"
And I started to internally scream, but luckily the conversation immediately detoured into something else and no one asked follow up questions to that weird-ass response.
Later that night, the adults (40 and over) stayed up drinking and sent the kids to bed. Since my family was sleeping in a tent near the brick house I could hear everything the adults were talking about. I was listening to my music when I heard something that just made me freeze up. The uncle who'd earlier asked the question about spouses commented, "I bet you Yssra is a fag. That boy has always been too delicate to be normal. Do you remember how he was when he was a toddler? He was practically a girl!! Mari (dat's me) was more rough and tumble that Yssra. That boy is a fag- mark my words."
I got up to get a drink a water so the adults would stop talking about my cousin like that. I was so angry, I would've slapped my uncle if he wasn't drunk and known to do stupid things (he has five kids with three women. his life is pretty much hell even though he's rich). The crux of the problem is that Yssra is gay and if he ever decides to come out, his life will be torn to pieces. I wish I knew what he was thinking or what he is planning to do with this situation, but he is soooo stubborn, I don't know if I could help at all.
This is how I interact with my friends:
~talking about something and I ask her what her fav. video game is~
Sam (looking a little embarrassed): skyrim is really fun! I like it-
Me: You like Sssskyrim???? What a nerd! Ugh, I can't believe it!
Sam: Oh fuck you! You play runescape! You're a bigger nerd!
~this argument dissolves into trying to outnerd one another~
I went out with my best friends and hip-conncection last night and by far, the best thing about it was being drunk with my hip-connection because we were laughing at thin air, and the car ride home when this boy tried to simultaneously hook up with all four of us. And he seemed genuinely confused when my HC and I called out his bullshit.
I had to take my contacts out and I dont have my glasses because my sister forgot them in mexico so now everything has to be ten inches in front of me so I can see it clearly.
swiggity swag I'm blind as a hag
Some people that the thing they love most in the world is their phone or their laptop. You know what I love most? Free textbooks. One free textbook saves you at least $100 in a regular science class.
Free textbooks is akin to mana from heaven.
cantinflas always knows how to make me happy. Even if the movies are 50 years old.
