It was the thing! Much respect to Blaine Johnson, who was the show’s music supervisor and Sean Callery, the main composer.

I found out recently through Facebook that Blaine Johnson, the music supervisor for LFN, had passed away last October. I will never forget the amazing musical contribution he made to making La Femme Nikita a success. Like the costumes and the sets, the music was such an integral part of the show. Many of those songs and those artists are forever connected to LFN episodes for me and I thank him for it. Hooverphonic, Mandalay, Massive Attack..the list is endless.

La Femme Nikita's Music Masterminds!!

Blaine Johnson (1) and Sean Callery (2) take a bow! As we all know the music was a character in the show. Blaine was the music supervisor who used a sweet mix of obscure, edgy music and artists that perfectly complemented the action and made scenes sizzle and pop. Sean composed the most amazing and beautiful orchestral pieces that evoked moods and touched our emotions as the characters did.  Both men helped shaped the style and atmosphere of the our perfect little show. A lifetime of memorable scenes and moments are burned in our consciousness because of that music. Think of the "Michael & Nikita" love theme or the use of Coldplay's "Spies" on the bridge. *SIGH* They both went on to work on the highly successful series "24".
