It was a tricky business, writing to Auntie Blanche about anything. You had to word things just right or possibly face her wrath. Especially when one was already on her shit list for eloping and not allowing her to have planned a huge event.
Not to say that Susie wasn’t sometimes disappointed that she didn’t have some grandiose wedding sometimes, she did privately on occasion regret the quick affair of things, but she got over it.
And so Susie sat looking over the letter she was composing to Auntie Blanche.
I have succeeded in my familial duties and produced an heir, Aedeling Valdyr. He would love to meet his great Auntie very much. I do hope you will be able to come and see him when you aren’t so busy.
At some point Vryce had come in and rested his chin on her shoulder, peering at what she had spent the past hour staring at hard. “I think it looks fine.”
“It’s almost there...” Susie frowned and sighed, tossing it out. “I just need to take out the great. She won’t like to be reminded of her age.”
And so the letter was composed once again without the mention of great before Auntie. With any luck, they would be forgiven.
