These are the sand caves near Kanab Utah. Better known as Moqui Caves. They are man-made caves left from a time when a company was mining for glass here in the 1970’s. The beautiful light filtering in the caves makes a perfect spot to watch cars pass by on the street below and have a picnic on the rock face while watching the sun set. One of my favorite places in Southern Utah - the Belly of the Dragon. I thought it was such a funny name, but it isn’t hard to imagine this is the intestine of a massive dragon. You also see large (not human made) scrapes and striations on the rocks leading up to the entrance. It isn’t a long hike at all, but well worth it for some fun photos with an incredibly unique backdrop. Don’t worry these are photos from a trip I never posted.
