So, I've been told that often enough people who have dyslexia are commonly mis diagnosed with adhd? I honestly haven't looked to much into it, but i do find myself mixing up letters and numbers allot, especially when I'm off my meds. Is this a common thing in adhdr's, or possibly something like dyslexia?
Learning disorders can cause people to have some of the same behaviours (e.g., disruptive behaviours, distraction). It's also possible to have both ADHD and a learning disorder. That's part of why a full assessment is so important - an experienced clinician will be able to tell if your results indicate a learning disorder or ADHD (or both).
Flipping numbers and letters is pretty common with ADHD as well; we just talked about that a couple of days ago, in fact. It seems to be a result of inattention.
If this is causing you a lot of problems, do talk to your doctor about the possibility of being assessed for a learning disorder as well.
