Nordic prince with cut-off shorts Makes coffee for soccer moms and suburbanites While dreaming of far-off ports With cold air and northern lights. The espresso machine's whir Has become a part of his mind, And the customers pass him in a blur, And his new city is blind: Blind to the care he puts into his golden hair As he gathers it in a knot at his nape; Blind to the rattling thoughts he wants to share As they turn in his mind and begin to take shape. Nordic prince, I see you. I see your creativity and your care and your heart. Nordic prince, I love you, And I think I have from the start.
