Illusory Ambusher

For Magic: the Gathering, Commander 2015.

Initially I tried to get away with sneaking Chandra in as the pyromancer firebolting this illusion.  But we chatted about it, and she didn’t really fit for the setting.  I was okay with that, because as much as I like Chandra, I like inventing new characters, (or re-interpreting classics) even more.

Allow me to introduce Blastina Rozencranz-Flimpnimpre.  Her parents were progressive for their day.  Raising little Blastina with gender neutral toys and clothing, which at a very young age she showed a penchant for burning.  Mom and Dad Rozencranz-Flimpnimpre encouraged the things that made their daughter happy, buying her all the back issues of “Arson Monthly,” and her first Char-master blowtorch.  Which she spent many a joyous hour with, melting both Barbie dolls and toy trains.  Because of the prudently excessive fire insurance policies taken out by her parents, Blastina was able to attend the illustrious Flamer Jack’s School of Pyromancy and Skin Grafting.  Now doing her graduate work in flammability and exotic accelerants, she hopes to one day travel to the stars with her ifrit boyfriend, Alfred.  Literally.  The surface of stars, where they hope to open a bed and breakfast for infernals, elementals, dragons, and the like.

Here we see Blastina pitching a flame through, and consequently dispelling, an illusory giant attack kitty.  We will give her the benefit of the doubt that she knew the kitty was an illusion...
