Blaugust 6th

Asthma.

I’ve had asthma since I was 8. When I was young, it was particularly debilitating, I was hospitalised twice and had to use a ventilator at home quite frequently.

I did learn to live with asthma, and by my 20′s is became much less of an issue. However, as I’ve aged through my 30′s, it has come back, and this past year in particular has been bad,

In October I was hospitalised again, after a day of work that exposed me to more asthma triggers than I knew I had, I was cutting an Olive tree down, which I actually react quite badly too, and did a lot of cleaning, which exposed me to dust mites.

And while I now have a better idea of what can set my asthma off, I still find myself with heavily restricted breathing most mornings in the past few weeks.

Asthma is awful. If I can avoid passing any one thing on to my children, it would be that.
