This Friday and Saturday Black On Black will be at Afro-Latino Fest at City Point at Albee Square! Come by and check me out. . Being a part of this event is especially dear to me because of my two daughters who are “Afro-Mexicanas” aka “Blaxicans”. My 6 and 2 Year old, went to Mexico and met family there and the 6 year old has been asking for years to go to Africa. I’m like “Pump your brakes grasshopper, it took me 30-something years to get there!” Haha. We communicate much about our identity and history around this household. For her to see other Afro-Latinxes celebrating themselves…I can’t wait. . Afro-Latino Fest NYC 2019 . "Afro-X" - Unisex/Slim Fit/Kids . A shirt with a double meaning. It was my first Afro-Latino Fest and it was a jam! The music- live, the crowd- beautiful, the support of the Black On Black message- clear and enthusiastic. It was great. Met some great people and had some very interesting conversations (One of the cops working turned out to be a repeat customer of mine). How random. It's easy to forget that they dress like me sometimes when that uniform and badge comes off. The party went on long after we broke down and I got home (a block away). I could hear the party late into the night. Oh and I met @daniellaofjesus. - Next up @curlygirlcollective for Curl Fest! It will be my #firstyearanniversary!!! There may be something special planned.
