Thoughts About the Future of Blazer IMPACT
I did some thinking with Blazer IMPACT at work, as I tend to do, and I came to a conclusion I'm both excited and a bit sad about. The way things are, there's a certain plot involving the background of the main group of characters that transcends the time period of the actual story.
I was gonna just have certain things explained during flash backs, but considering the complexity of the background plot it would have a continuous amount of flashbacks within flashbacks, and maybe even flashbacks within those flashbacks. In other words, a big mess. I've been getting frustrated actually trying to figure out how to successfully do what I'm planning without mass confusion and plotholes but haven't had any luck at all.
Thus, I've concluded that a prequel comic might be the best solution. That is to say, making a comic before I actually make Blazer IMPACT. I'm happy because it'll give my plot a lot more breathing room, but at the same time, I was really ready to get Blazer IMPACT up and going. Now it's gonna take EVEN LONGER to get to because now I have to plan a relatively brand new story idea out.
If I really go through with this prequel comic, which I probably will for the sake of my sanity, I'll probably call it just Blazer or something. I dunno. It'll just be one "season", as opposed to the 3 "seasons" I have planned for Blazer IMPACT:
Blazer IMPACT, Blazer IMPACT: Brave World, and Blazer IMPACT: Unite! (Yeah, resulting in 4 different comic series. Man, I'll be working on this project for the rest of my life. XD)
With that said, I thought it'd be worth mentioning that old characters who's comic idea I've screwed to high heck will probably be used instead of making new characters and having those old characters just sit around. Yes I'm referring to the characters from Land of Advent. Man, the plan I had for that comic just...it's just dead. Mangled and dead. I'd rather put those characters to better use using an idea that's MUCH more put together. I do miss them, and if this comic pans out the way I plan, rethinking Land of Advent won't be needed ever again.
So yay familiar faces! Very familiar faces. It'd be interesting to see certain characters I haven't drawn in years in my current style.
