being stubborn was always one of dylan’s strong suits, especially when it came to his career. giving up easy didn’t get anyone anywhere and in this town having resilience was almost a skill needed to keep yourself alive. you had to grit your teeth, bear the long journey, and hope to hell the results are the income you had planned - or in dylan’s case, you cheated a little here and there to make sure it turned out in your favor no matter what. he’d fight the fight like everyone else, but he was going to choose methods that proved results even if they weren’t the fair way of getting things done.
which is what drove him to snake ‘n’ jakes, dust coating his boots as he strolled up casually to the pit hole that he often visited on his nights off. he’d come for one reason and one reason only: hunter selway. his irritable side didn’t trust the girl in the slightest, his suspicions getting the better of him whenever he’d see her around town. he’d been home, sifting through grueling amounts of paperwork when he’d received a text from a source saying the girl was spotted outside the infamous bar. it’d be a perfect chance for him to check up on her, without making it too entirely obvious that those were his intentions behind a sudden night out. rolling up in a detective suit would do him no good, so the man slipped on the most casual attire he could manage, jeans, a simple t-shirt , and a black leather jacket that now replaced his nicely pressed work suit.
the usual filth was trolling around outside the bar, drunken idiots mixed with the perusal bumfuck resident that turned their heads in his direction as he approached a figure near the front, nasty scowls painting their lips as they stuck up their nose at the police presence.
“well, would you look at that? no es un bueno criminal.” the smile on his face was beyond false, but he played up it as well as he possibly could as he forced himself into a casual demeanor, leaning one shoulder against the wall as if it was the coolest thing in the world, “what are the chances of seeing you here?” | @blcodxhoney
