First/Last WIP Challenge

Okay though, but since I have so MANY WIPs I’ll do four of my faves, lol

The rules: post the first/last line of a wip then tag as many people as there are words. (yeah im not gonna do *that* my sentences are too long)

Seeking Petrichor

first line: The forge was blisteringly hot so close, and the superheated air singed the hair from his face as he bore down on the bellows, applying even pressure to the wood and oxhide creation.

last line: No wonder Killua had slept so long after he’d been rescued.

first line: Chalk always had felt slightly unpleasant on his hands, especially after his palms were starting to become sticky with sweat.

last line: He swiped his resident-access card and the lock clicked, door popping open with an inviting squeak.

Modern Vampire AU

first line: At least it wasn’t raining, and at least he knew the hospital was only a five-minute run if he went over the rooftops.

last line: But that had been where his memory ended, until the cracked daylight had woken him, and he’d stumbled through a haze of blood loss to his, Gon and Alluka’s apartment.

Dragon Blade

first line: It was an average day in Tokyo when it finally happened, and as a young child clapped her hands in excitement, jumping up and down in front of the escalator, a glowing, faceless being suddenly materialized and began running in circles around her.

last line: The mix of shame and gratitude that charred his golden cheekbones was a powerful heat, and yet Izuku’s mother had said very little to him since he’d taken a seat in her car.

Do his eyes turn red when using his breath attack or was that something else?

Finally returning to clear my inbox... sorry for the long wait! Hitsugaya’s eyes turning red is unrelated to the breath attack! Good eye though, that’s a plot point ;)

I saw the other ask a while back and am curious now like...how would you imagine things would play out if it were Soi fon who fell into the bnha world first? Would things play out exactly like Hitsugaya (minus the fact she doesn't have any noticeable PTSD but does have trust issues)? Asking because you write Bleach characters very well and she seems similar-ISH to Toshiro in regards to being super serious about her job and being an absolute bad-ss

No, the story would more than likely be very different. Soifon wouldn't have thought to accept assistance from the humans in the first place, and more than likely would've resorted to constantly laying low and stealing.

She's also a harder-hearted person than my interpretation of Hitsugaya, and would probably choose preserving her cover over saving the humans from Hollows.

So yeah...the story would be VERY different.

Trying to mesh all the science together, honestly. Nitpicking the way that the BnHA and Bleach worlds fit together to create some kind of unified multiverse is my JAM.

Dragon Blade

2: What scene did you first put down?

Honestly? The first chapter I write is usually the first chapter of the story. I rarely write anything out of order, because I do so many plot-tweaks along the way. So the prologue of Dragon Blade is the first part of it that I wrote.

3: What’s your favorite line of narration?

GOD, I have 180k+ words to choose from - UM. I’ll go with my fav line of narration from the most recent chapter I wrote (yes! I have finally finished writing another chapter!). 

Hitsugaya POV, Ch 33 (unpublished) about Class 1-A:

A frighteningly large amount of new ways for him to shatter into shards like glass if he failed to protect them.

Seeking Petrichor

2: What scene did you first put down?

Same as the above answer! I rarely write stuff non-chronologically, so Chapter one is the first thing I wrote for Seeking Petrichor.

3: What’s your favorite line of narration?

Again, to make this easy on myself, this will be the fav line of narration from the next, unpublished chapter. And uh. It’s a little more than just a single line XD

Gon POV, Ch 8 (unpublished):

It was like hearing down a long tunnel, Killua’s deadened words bouncing off walls like a ricocheting bocce ball. Kite was still warm in his hands, despite the lean chest being still and the fading spirit’s golden trails of faint heat tickling gently over the backs of his hands and arms and cheeks. It was like falling, falling forever, the knife of despair slowly starting to burn in his chest, burn with something powerful and hot and- angry.

But on top of all that, there was resolve, white and gold and absolutely brilliant, like fire so hot it had turned pale.
