I need all JatD fans to know that the official continuation story, Dragon Blade, by author Martin Baynton will be disappearing come end of March 2025. So if you have not read it, do it now before it's gone! We should work together as a fandom to try and perverse what is still available! I can't stress enough that Dragon Blade is NOT a work of fanfiction. It's written by original author and show developer Martin Baynton. So please go give it a read if you're a JatD fan!

More on giant dragon Dan heng + company? (Not a request, just your further thoughts) I'm imagining that it has to be terrifying to the human minding their own business and suddenly snatched up in a paw, lifted to be face to face with a creature that you've only seen mentioned in history books...
And it's three of them too..
Hehehehehe I had to write something for this...I know this isn't a request but I couldn't HELP it, I had to write SOMETHING for these three. I've literally been thinking about them for WEEKS.
Dragon's Dang Heng and Blade find you after you return visit the Xianzhou Alliance (which for the sake of this au's lore is NOT a fleet of massive ships, but is actually just a planet instead), and they immediately sense that you are their soulmate reborn, and they are so, so happy to see you and they've missed you so, so much, but oopsies, they don't realize you don't remember them! So they kind of just go haywire and start fighting each other order to get to you (because these mfs are always beefing), and you have NO clue what's going on so you run and it's just a terrible time for all three of you until dragon Jing Yuan arrives. So yeah you have three massive dragons who are head-over-heels in love with you, and you don't know how to handle it because they express their love in such raw, emotional ways because they literally haven't seen you in years. Also they want to eat you.
The dragons are fighting.
You feel their battle echo through the forest while you run, legs screaming in protest as you push yourself to your very limits. Exhaustion fights your adrenaline like the two beasts tearing into each other behind you. Their roars shatter the sky like lightning. The ground shakes with their weight. It’s a tangle of scales and claws and teeth, clashing in a horrifying display of ancient power…all over you.
You do not know why. You do not want to know why. All you wish to do is run and get away from the monsters who threaten to inadvertently kill you in their moment of madness. Maybe that’s what they intend to do if either of them do catch you. You won’t stick around long enough to find out.
Dragons are ancient creatures in the Xianzhou’s history. You don’t know much about them; the world from which you hail is distant and far removed from this planet’s stars. You did do your research before joining the small diplomatic team recruited for the important task of strengthening good ties with your planet and the Alliance, however. The Hunt and the Preservation, as your supervisor claims, can learn much from each other. Understanding the Xianzhou’s culture and history is pivotal.
Yes, dragons are relevant here. But that doesn’t mean you ever intended to run into one, let alone two. And it certainly doesn’t mean you thought you’d find two dragons abruptly fighting over you.
You shriek when a massive talon slams down in your path, causing you to backpedal and fall. The dragon staring down at you heaves for breath, its body covered in nasty wounds leaking blood. It looks at you and gives a warble of relief, thumping closer. “There you are,” it says with a voice which rumbles over you with such power it makes you want to cry. “It’s okay. He’s not going to get you first. You’re safe. I’ll protect you.” It reaches out, wickedly sharp claws extending to trap you in its hold. You want to run, yet you are a deer in the headlights, muscles locked in fear as your mind goes totally blank.
The second dragon suddenly comes crashing through the canopy of trees and throws itself into the first. Deep black collides with cool azure as the much more heavyset beast snaps its fangs around the other’s neck. The blue dragon shrieks, whirling backwards and slashing at its enemy’s chest, leaving deep grooves that leak putrid lifesource reeking of sulfur. You snap back into reality, ducking and avoiding being crushed by a thrashing tail, stumbling into the cover of the trees and looking back in time to see the black dragon practically throw the blue one away like it’s a stick. It whips its head around and immediately zeros in on you with an expression of crazed panic that might even be mistaken for fury.
“STOP!” the dragon howls. “Come BACK!” Its tail slams down in front of you, barely giving you time to divert and bolt the other way. “NO MORE RUNNING! You KNOW ME!”
No I don’t! you want to scream. I don’t know you! I don’t know what’s going on at all! You have no choice but to simply run, with the way the dragon is completely destroying the environment in its rampaging chase. Trees are trampled. The ground is churned. Even the sky roils with dark, ugly clouds spurred on by the violent wind. It’s raining, with stinging pellets hailing down upon you and soaking you to the bone. You don’t know how much longer you can keep this game of cat and mouse up.
“Leave them alone!” The blue dragon catches up, leaping and slamming the black dragon’s head down, the latter’s body colliding in on itself like an accordion. “Can’t you see they are afraid? You are in no condition to be near them!”
The black dragon thrashes and roars. “Unhand me! Whether they are scared or not doesn’t matter! Millennia have passed where I've been devoid of their touch! Now that they have returned, I want them BACK!”
“You are allowing the mara to take over! You will hurt them if you remain in this state! I have to-” It looks up and pauses. “Wait. Where did they go?”
You are pelting off again, head swimming with their booming voices. Their words are twisted and malformed, hurting your mind and making you ill. The magic they have hurts; it’s like you can feel their anger, their fear, their worry and hate and joy and so much more, like the emotions are your own. You are in turmoil.
“COME BACK!” the dragons scream as one. You stumble and slap your hands over your ears, dropping to your knees with tears running down your cheeks, screaming right along with them while your brain rings with the raw strength of their combined obsession. There’s the taste of embers in your throat, the jab of wind tearing your heart, the rain deluging you with despair and terror while Destruction tears you to pieces and puts you back together again. It hurts, it hurts, please, make it stop, make it stop…
The black dragon finally overpowers the blue one, wrestling it away and jabbing the elbow of its forearm right into its stomach. The blue dragon wheezes and collapses, coughing violently, unable to keep up with the other’s raw strength. The bigger beast growls at its fallen adversary before looking back to you and stalking forward with its head hanging low. Spurts of dark smoke curl from its jaws as they open wide, showing off vermillion teeth and an eager forked tongue, the back of its throat pulsing with a bright, hypnotic glow. For a moment, you are stricken with a sudden bout of strange nostalgia, as if you’ve seen this before…but it quickly disappears with the terror of the monster’s talon pinning you down, rough scales pressing upon your chest and leaving no room for escape.
Struggling proves futile. No matter how much you push at its claws, the dragon won’t let up. You almost want to try protesting, but any pleas fall short when it leans in and leers at you with an unamused huff, sending smoke billowing into your face. A coughing fit wrenches your lungs.
“Stop. Moving. You’re only going to make this worse.” For a moment, there’s a loss in its eyes, like it can’t believe it’s doing this to you. It looks at you with such complex heartbreak, it makes you want to crack. But then it shakes the weakness away and opens its mouth wider, its long tongue dipping down to carefully curl around your waist. It lifts its claw and begins drawing you up towards its maw, where there is teeth and fire and surely death awaiting you.
“No!” you screech, finally finding your voice. “No, no, stop, stop, don’t do this, I’m begging you, please-!”
Lightning bursts through the cover of rain and clouds.
The dragon pauses. It looks up at the shape descending from the heavens with a halo of light like a messenger from the Aeons THEMSELVES. It’s another dragon. Serpentine like the other two, this one has a full mane of silver fur and branching golden horns. It circles once, then lands with an air of pure radiance, light beaming from its very being. The black dragon shrinks backwards and hisses.
Great. Now there are three of them.
The light dragon approaches slowly with no sign of fear on its face. The black dragon gnashes its teeth and spurts flames, tail lashing, begging for a fight. Yet one look at the larger beast has it slowly retreating, freeing you from its clutches as it scuttles into the dark. You cough again, sitting up slowly and rubbing your chest, which aches from the pressure of the dragon’s paw.
“It’s you.” The blue dragon limps into view, one of its front legs tucked up in pain. “You’ve come at just the right time. Blade, he was going to-”
“I am aware,” the light dragon rumbles dangerously, “of what Blade plans to do. It is the same action you plan on doing as well. Let it be known that both of your ways of thinking are shortsighted. Look at them. They are clearly terrified, and yet you choose to engage further with that fear.”
“I despise your righteous attitude,” the black dragon barks. “Don’t think for a second you are above us. You’ve arrived with the same intention. You are going to whisk them away.”
Whisk me away? you think, at a loss. What is that supposed to mean?
“I am not acting purely upon my instincts,” the light dragon snarls. “I am old enough to realize when I am in the wrong. See what the two of you have done? You have scared them.”
You sniffle and keep your eyes on the sight of your muddy boots, hating the way all three gazes burn uncomfortably into your skull.
The light dragon bends its head to you. You flinch back, your frantic thought process begging you to scream. “No, please don’t chase me again, don’t eat me, don’t hurt me, please!”
It sees your trepidation and softens. “Hush, little one,” it croons. “Fear not. No harm will come to you from any of us. This may sound quite silly, but we only want to ensure your protection.”
Tears are welling up in your eyes. You scrub them away, unsteady. “I…I don’t know who you are. What do you…what do you want with me?”
The blue dragon whines. The black one hisses softly and coils in on itself, hunching its shoulders and gouging its claws into the ground. The light dragon’s face falls crestfallen. It takes a deep breath and rumbles a low sigh. “Forgive me. I know you are confused, and we haven’t made things easy for you. If…if you come with me, I promise, in due time, I will explain everything.”
“Come with you?” you echo. “You…you’re taking me away?”
“No, not taking you away, little one. I simply wish to bring you somewhere safer. You are exhausted, wet, and cold. I will bring you to a soft bed, a warm bath, and fresh clothes. Please…on behalf of my position as general, allow me to take care of you.”
General… Your eyes widen. “You…you mean General Jing Yuan? The general? That’s you?”
The black dragon snorts. The newly-dubbed general shoots him a warning glare before smiling without any teeth and chuckling. “Yes, that general. I am sincerely sorry you have to meet me under such undesirable circumstances. I am Jing Yuan. And you, little one, are Y/N. A diplomat, yes? I know of you, and I am happy you are here.” Jing Yuan extends a talon palm-up, beckoning to you gently. “Come, Y/N. Let’s get you somewhere more comfortable.”
You eye his paw nervously, hesitant to step anywhere near him after the nightmare you just ensued, and then glance at the other two dragons with visible apprehension. The general purrs, bumping his snout lightly against your side. “Pay them no mind. They will not bother you.”
You’ve read much about Jing Yuan and his various heroic deeds. If the creature before you truly is him, then you’d much rather entrust your life within his claws than the others. So against all of your better judgement, despite your fear, you carefully inch forward and boost yourself up onto the dragon’s paw. He waits for you to settle, then curls his talons upward in a loose cage. You rise up, up, up, with your stomach dropping from the slight vertigo, until you are lightly pressing into his chest fur. It’s…extremely soft. Your fingers sink into the fluffy strands and warmth chases away the cold. A soft exhale leaves you.
“M’ so tired…” you mumble, shuddering out a soft sob. He smells wonderful, like jasmine and tea leaves. Scents you know, yet you cannot recall any moment in time where you were around them. “So scared…”
Jing Yuan soothes you with low, continuous hums. “I know you are. It’s okay to rest, little one. You don’t have to be scared. You are safe with me. I promise.” He nuzzles the top of your head. “Rest. Relax. I’ve got you. Everything will be alright.”
There it is again. A thrum of strange recognition washing over you, as if you’ve been in this very position before. The feeling has you instinctively nestling into his fur and closing your eyes. There is no more Destruction. Only reassuring Erudition. You are soothed…and then...you are asleep.
The last thing you hear is Jing Yuan whispering to you. “Welcome back, darling mine. I…we…are so happy you have returned.”
