          aurora had finally fallen asleep , and finally , after all these years , marcos feels secure leaving her room unguarded. gently closing the door behind him , he makes his way comfortably down the hall , walking until he finds lorna. “ she’s out like a light and it only took three bedtime stories. ” the mock exasperation in his tone is outshone by the smile tugging at his lips. there had been a long time when marcos would not have believed a future like this possible. one so mundane, so beautiful. but here they are , and marcos can’t imagine being any happier.
