another classic demon-megane post i rescued from readmore turbo hell:
What kind if things do the hosts send to each other at 3am?? How good at ice skating do you think each host is?
Thank you for the request! Because there are two here and my first answer takes up quite a bit of space (hence the readmore), I’m going to answer the ice skating question as a separate post. Keep an eye out!
-Sends clingy texts at 3am. He usually goes to bed at 10, so if he’s up that late, it’s either because he couldn’t sleep or couldn’t stay asleep. He feels alone late at night and he hates sitting with that feeling, so he’ll message whoever else is up until someone will talk to him.
-He and Kyoya might go on call until one or both of them get too tired (sometimes Tamaki will fall asleep mid-conversation).
-The other thing he’ll send at 3am are host club ideas. He typically messages these to Kyoya in big batches, expecting him to read it in the morning afternoon. Other times (to everyone’s annoyance) he’ll message the entire club.
-He also never silences his phone at home, so if people (the twins) are spamming the chat, he might wake up. Everyone tells him to mute it. He refuses on principle, because ‘what if they really need him???’
-Doesn’t initiate conversations at 3am. Always ‘invisible’ on the apps where he can be, but people assume he’s up and they usually assume right.
-Almost never in the group chat, even if it’s blowing up. He won’t see it unless somebody @s him. And if they do, they had better have a very good reason.
-If someone messages him directly, he might answer. He’s worn out from working all night and he’s weak to distractions.
-Invariably telling people to please just go to sleep. Will give nightmarish statistics about sleep deprivation if provoked.
-Kyoya joins in with especially grim ones. It’s one of the few times he pitches in. It stops when someone brave, stupid, or sleep deprived enough finally just calls him a hypocrite.
-Threatens to leave the chat. Especially since people keep @ing her. Has blocked and unblocked every host several times. Except Mori.
-We all know that he’s spamming memes. The later the hour, the more surreal the meme. He sends them to the group chat and he is a menace.
-Hikaru’s meme philosophy is “it’s funny because it makes no sense”, “it’s funny because it annoys Haruhi/Tamaki/Kyoya.”, or (and this is perhaps the most powerful) “it’s funny because it’s 3am”.
-Hikaru is also the type to send paragraph-long rants and delete them immediately after. On social media, he’s prone to venting on main.
-Hikaru’s accomplice. His memes are less out there than Hikaru’s, though, but they’re reliably funny when fully awake. A lot of people save them.
-He’s everyone’s therapist if they are hit with a case of the Night Angst. Which is tragic, because he usually has his own. He types it all out in his phone notes, and it stays there.
-It’s canon that Mori gets open and expressive when he’s extremely tired, so he will send unexpectedly heartfelt messages.
-Everyone in the chat will just be yelling at the twins or telling Tamaki to shut up and Mori will pop in like “I love you all. You’re so silly!” And everyone just goes quiet. Because nobody knows what to do with that.
-But that’s not even the weirdest thing.
-Every once in a while, he’ll drop a random message that is just...extremely cryptic. Nobody knows what it means. Is it an inspirational quote? A weirdly obscure reference? Some kind of ancient haiku?
-If he was up already, he’ll also send memes, but positive/wholesome ones. He tries to create peace in the chat. It does not work. He is told to go to sleep.
-If the others woke him up, there will be hell to pay. Hikaru has legitimately missed a day of school in fear of Honey’s revenge.
-Honey is also the only one who can understand Mori’s random messages. But he’ll never tell what they mean.
